COMMEMORATIVE OBSERVANCES
Month of February
Theme: A Century of Black History Commemorations
Join us throughout the month of February as we honor the legacy, faith, culture, and contributions of African Americans through worship, education, and engaging presentations led by both youth and adults.
1st Sunday – Black History Month Kickoff
Historical overview and introduction to the month’s activities.
2nd Sunday – Youth Praise Dance & Heart Prevention Awareness
Youth praise dance presentation. Wear RED in support of Heart Prevention Month.
3rd Sunday – Old-Time Church Service & Live Wax Museum
Traditional worship service followed by a Live Wax Museum featuring The Children of Zion.
Attire: Old-Timey clothing encouraged. Prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place – Best Dressed.
4th Sunday – Black History Month Q&A; Celebration
Interactive Q&A; highlighting the month’s lessons.
Attire: African attire encouraged. Prize awarded for most correct answers.
Heritage Dinner immediately following worship service.
